Frequently Asked Questions
-
Dock Armor Fenders are dock mounted boat fenders designed to protect boats and docks from impact. They feature a closed-cell EVA foam core, a heavy-duty vinyl liner, and a durable marine carpet exterior.
-
The fenders mount to the dock fascia (perimeter) board using two powder-coated aluminum sail tracks and stainless steel screws. The system is designed to install over most existing dock corner rub rails. Ideally the fascia board is 2×8 or larger. It is possible to mount to a 2×6 but it is a tight fit.
-
Our fenders run $75/foot installed or $65/foot self installed. The miter cut and sewn outside corners run $400 each installed or $360 each for self install.
-
Dock Armor Fenders can be installed on floating or fixed docks that have a 2x8 or larger fascia board. Installation on a 2x6 fascia board is possible in many cases. Some docks can be modified to accept our fenders by simply installing a 2×8 in the area where you need fenders. We always recommend sending photos of your dock before ordering so we can confirm compatibility with your dock.

No. The marine carpet is non-abrasive when properly maintained. It is designed to protect your boat's finish while providing cushioning during docking. As with any fender system, regular rinsing is important to remove accumulated salt, sand, dirt, and other debris. Allowing abrasive contaminants or salt crystals to build up in the carpet fibers may increase the risk of surface marking. Keeping the fenders clean will help ensure maximum protection for your boat's paint and gelcoat.
